- What happens in "Crackers Don't Matter"?
- At the start of the episode, the crew of the living ship Moya has just taken on a blind alien named Tarkt to make adjustments to Moya's electromagnetics, and they argue about a bulk purchase of one thousand units of crackers as shipboard food. With Zhaan supervising, Tarkt runs a small-scale test of a sentry device on John Crichton's module, and it succeeds: the module vanishes briefly, Crichton finds that he has vanished along with it, and then both reappear. After the standard wormhole voiceover, the crew discusses taking Moya to Tarkt's home planet so he can build a much larger version of the device, a plan Crichton says he does not trust.
- To reach Tarkt's world, Moya travels through a pulsar field, and Tarkt warns that the pulsar light can cause impaired judgment and wooziness in lesser, non-sentient species. As Moya moves deeper into the field, two of the crew begin to feel the effects, and Tarkt explains that his blindness has given him an internal radar sense. The central disturbance arrives when Moya receives a Peacekeeper beacon offering a reward for Crichton's capture, which draws his attention while Aeryn Sun is already bothered by the pulsar light.
- Ka D'Argo confronts Chiana over the missing food and accuses Crichton of being behind the theft, while Pilot reports that Zhaan, a plant species, is smiling because the pulsar light is affecting her too. Crichton asks Pilot to run a spectrum analysis of the light to find the cause of the strange behavior, and an argument breaks out between him and Aeryn over the Peacekeeper beacon: Aeryn accuses Crichton of hiding something, and Chiana insists the transmission is blank.
- Crichton finds Tarkt bound and gagged in a maintenance bay, the victim of an attack by another crew member, while D'Argo and Chiana privately raise the possibility that Zhaan is working with Scorpius through the Peacekeeper beacon. As the pulsar exposure continues, trust erodes and each crew member begins to suspect the others, while Tarkt's larger sentry device remains the stated reason for the journey.
