What happens in "Eat Me"?

The episode opens with John Crichton flying a failing transport pod with Chiana, Ka D'Argo and Jool aboard, low on oxygen and unable to reach Moya.[4] Instead of Moya they find a Leviathan wearing a Peacekeeper control collar, and Crichton brings the pod down inside it over the others' protests.[4]

On board, the pod turns out to be beyond repair without 3K wire and narium coils, and the Leviathan has no transport pods or escape craft left, as if everyone who could leave already has.[4] The ship is diseased and oozing pus, with no DRDs in sight, and it proves to be a Peacekeeper prison ship.[4]

Crichton finds the Leviathan's Pilot begging to die: Growgan cuts off his arms and, when they grow back, hacks them off again to eat.[4] The Pilot explains that Scarrans ambushed the prison convoy and left the ship drifting and starving, with one prisoner, Kaarvok, and that the creatures roaming it were once its Peacekeepers.[4]

Meanwhile Moya starbursts without warning to answer a distress call, stranding Crichton's group: the caller is Talyn, badly hurt, and Aeryn Sun can raise neither Talyn nor Crais.[4] Aeryn takes a transport pod to collect the others, while Rygel plans to cut Talyn loose and starburst before she returns.[4]

Kaarvok "twins" his captives into equal copies to feed on, and he twins D'Argo and then Crichton.[4] Crichton has the dying Leviathan try to starburst despite its collar, and the group, Jool among them, escapes in the pod; afterward D'Argo tells Crichton he saw his own copy as a corpse and wonders which of them is the original.[4]
