Premise

Drawn into a wormhole, John Crichton arrives in an unusual place between realities, where an entity reveals to him the hazards of wormhole travel.[1]

Plot

A "Previously on Farscape" recap has a character identifying as Pathfinder speaking of wormhole technology and of Moya having been sucked down a wormhole.[4] In the opening scene, the crew discusses an alien species that starts small, grows and changes, and uses 26 symbols in its language, and Crichton is told he has to learn the "language of wormholes" in order to bring someone back.[4] Aeryn Sun tells him about a colleague who has placed drugs in his quarters, drugs meant to help him forget her.[4]

Pilot negotiates with another Dominar over a filter system for Moya and urges Crichton to get over his fear of wormholes, mentioning an alliance proposal whose only condition is the agreement "always save Crichton."[4]

In that context, Crichton meets a being that announces "you are present to perish" and says its purpose is to carry out that sentence.[4]

The entity reveals that wormholes are the one feature that traverses both realms, and that an aggressive perforation of one would allow incursion from Crichton's existence into the entity's; it tells him that unconscious knowledge given to him will guide him and warns that he is already on the right path.[4] Back aboard Moya, Crichton tells Pilot he has figured out wormholes and offers to get them home, even though he does not know where either of them is.[4] He returns from the strange place to find that the crew has been fighting bandits during his absence.[4]
