The two ships are fused together by the impact, and Crichton finds himself stuck in the wormhole, unable to return to his friends. Two aliens from the small ship, who carry needle-shooting gills, are now aboard Moya, and they begin to cause trouble for the rest of the crew. The episode sets up a standoff that the following episode continues, leaving Crichton separated from Moya for most of the running time.
