7. In the opening scene Zhaan shows the crew a pair of time-tear goggles through which they can watch the Peacekeepers surrendering to the venic horde at an old monastery, with Jool present. Stark lends Jool one of the goggles so that she can see the nurses' rescue 500 cycles in the past, but the vision overwhelms her. When a mask is pulled from Jool, the crew is abruptly transported back in time to the original attack on the monastery, where venic warriors open fire on them.
8. Once aboard Moya, Pilot reports a broadcast in the venic vernacular and a request to lift orbit, confirming that they are no longer in their own time. John Crichton, Aeryn Sun and Jool infiltrate the monastery, where they meet sub officer Daan, who is being feted as the hero who sent the ceasefire initiative. Ka D'Argo and Stark, who have stayed behind at the monastery, meet the cook, who becomes the ranking officer after the soldiers are killed.
9. As the group prepares to follow the time tear back to the present, Jool has already passed through it alone. Crichton proposes throwing the battle to General Grundis's side so that the original timeline is restored and the ceasefire holds. The crew is forced to interfere further in a conflict they had only meant to observe, to put right what their presence has changed.
