Chrome extension

The Heartbeat Chrome extension lets users press the H key while watching a YouTube video to create a saved video moment.^[1] The extension was at version 2.108.0 with an English-only localisation as of June 23, 2026, and the store listing reported 527 users and a 4.3-star average across 15 ratings on that date.^[1]

The store page declares that user data is not being sold to third parties outside approved use cases, and reports that the extension handles personally identifiable information, web history, user activity and website content.^[1]

Freedom! stated that Heartbeat does not host or stream video itself and instead embeds YouTube videos, listing among its stated benefits that there is no bandwidth cost for video and no video ads on its own pages.^[4] The company said Heartbeat tracks watch time and views per moment separately from the underlying YouTube video's counters, with a 2-second unique-view cooldown, and that Heartbeat Studio would give creators per-moment views, watch time, traffic source and revenue analytics accessed via Google OAuth.^[4]

A preview of Heartbeat Moments appeared on Freedom!'s YouTube channel in February 2023, described as a way to share clips with friends and family and find them later.^[10][2] Heartbeat Moments 1.0 was announced in a Freedom! YouTube video published on August 18, 2023, and was promoted at the heartbeatmoments.com domain as a free Chrome extension to save YouTube video moments by pressing H.^[8]

Creator payments

According to Freedom!, Heartbeat is a platform where creators get paid from the first piece of content, with no 4,000-hour/1,000-subscriber rule and a $0.01 payment threshold.^[8] The company described Heartbeat's revenue model as paying creators 55% of the revenue associated with the page their moment appears on, and gave a worked example of $0.0055 per 100 views at CPM $0.10.^[4]
