Overview

Heartbeat is a multi-format publishing platform built by Freedom! Family Limited that lets users create and monetize video moments, writings, riddles and trivia, logic puzzles and photos.^[1]

Its Chrome Web Store listing names Freedom! Family Limited as the developer, carries the publisher note "Created by the owner of the listed website" and records no history of violations.^[1]

Chrome extension

The Heartbeat Chrome extension lets users press the H key while watching a YouTube video to create a saved video moment.^[1] As of June 23, 2026, the extension was at version 2.108.0 and available in English only, and the store listing reported 527 users and an average rating of 4.3 stars across 15 ratings.^[1]

The store page declares that user data is not being sold to third parties outside approved use cases, and that the extension handles personally identifiable information, web history, user activity and website content.^[1]

Freedom! stated that Heartbeat does not host or stream video itself but embeds YouTube videos, and listed among the benefits that there is no bandwidth cost for video and no video ads on its own pages.^[4] The company said Heartbeat tracks views and watch time per moment, separately from the underlying YouTube video's counters, with a 2-second unique-view cooldown, and that Heartbeat Studio would give creators per-moment views, watch time, traffic source and revenue analytics, accessed via Google OAuth.^[4]

Heartbeat Photos

Freedom! announced Heartbeat Photos 1.0, hosted at heartbeat.photos, as the first Heartbeat product launch on August 3, 2023.^[3] The company describes Heartbeat Photos as a free, clickless gallery that reveals a photo on hover.^[3]

Heartbeat Moments

A preview of Heartbeat Moments appeared on Freedom!'s YouTube channel in February 2023, presenting it as a way to share clips with friends and family and find them later.^[10][2] Freedom! announced Heartbeat Moments 1.0 in a YouTube video published on August 18, 2023, promoting it at the heartbeatmoments.com domain as a free Chrome extension that saves YouTube video moments when the user presses H.^[8]

Freedom! said the extension lets users share moments with friends and family and connect with strangers over shared moments, and named the heartbeat.love domain as the place to manage saved moments.^[8]

The Chrome Web Store listing calls the extension "Heartbeat", while the company's own YouTube descriptions, press posts and heartbeatmoments.com call it "Heartbeat Moments".^{[1][5][8][10]} Freedom! also published a "Freedom! benefits to creators" page on tips.h.ki that lists Heartbeat Moments as one of the partner benefits.^[5]

Freedom! said Heartbeat pays creators from their first piece of content, with no 4,000-hour/1,000-subscriber rule and a $0.01 payment threshold.^[8] The company described the revenue model as paying creators 55% of the revenue associated with the page their moment appears on, and gave a worked example of $0.0055 per 100 views at a CPM of $0.10.^[4]

Freedom! wrote that Heartbeat pays creators a 55% revenue share on Heartbeat Studio revenue, and separately described a 110% revenue share with YouTube through the Freedom! partnership on games; the same posts present these as different programs.^[2][4][5]

Vi.ki

Freedom! described Vi.ki as a prototype Heartbeat site that organizes crowdsourced video clips into articles, a format it called a "video wiki" or "viki".^[2]

Positioning and stated features

Freedom! positioned Heartbeat as a multi-player, creator-first alternative to YouTube's single-player experience, with split-payment revenue shares decided by creators.^[2] The company said Heartbeat would offer commercial music that creators could use without copyright strikes, through Music Factory, and that it would allow subnetworks and review network applications twice a day, where YouTube MCNs review twice a year.^[2]

Freedom! framed Heartbeat as "the world's memories", alongside YouTube as "the world's video library" and Wikipedia as "the world's free encyclopedia", and listed the Heartbeat Channels Tab alongside Heartbeat Handles among its 2023 blog posts.^[2]
