It establishes the central premise of the series: a human thrown into a distant part of the universe, pursued by a Peacekeeper captain whose own brother has just been killed in the escape.
  11. Plot
  12. The episode opens with Commander John Crichton's experimental module achieving flight under his theory of using gravity as a slingshot. Mission control orders Crichton to abort after detecting an electromagnetic wave near his craft.
  13. Onboard the Leviathan ship Moya, the escaped prisoners remove a Peacekeeper control collar so Moya can Starburst away. Captain Crais learns that his brother has been killed and his Prowler lost with the Leviathan transport during the escape.
  14. Translator microbes are used to enable communication between Crichton and the alien crew.
  15. According to YouTube automatic captions, as the episode closes, Captain Crais orders his fleet to pursue the Leviathan after identifying Crichton in the recovered module.

  30. Pilot D'Argo returns to the bridge D'Argo confronts the others over damaging the ship and announces they are nearing an inhabited system.
  31. Crichton considers making a wormhole Locked in a cell, Crichton works through the math of using gravity to fold space and find a way home.
  32. Captain Bialar Crais intercepts A Command carrier captain learns the escapees are heading for a commerce planet and orders an intercept.
  33. Atmospheric slingshot plan With Peacekeeper cannons closing, Crichton proposes diving into the planet's atmosphere to slingshot the Leviathan away.
