Before streaming

In a 2016 Blizzard Entertainment Community Spotlight, Towelliee said he had played competitive Team Fortress Classic from 1998 to 2003, and had previously played Nintendo titles including Excitebike and Kung Fu starting around 1986.^[1]

He told Blizzard he was first invited to play the World of Warcraft beta by his boss in early 2004.^[1]

According to the same Spotlight, he identified obtaining the sword Quel'Serrar in Classic WoW by stabbing Onyxia with the Ancient Blade as the moment he committed to playing as a tank.^[1]

He said he was a member of the Death Jesters guild on the Stormrage-US realm, which he reported had been active for 11 years at the time of the 2016 interview.^[1]

In the 2016 interview, he described the Legion expansion's Artifact weapon system as the first time in 11 years that he planned to play DPS and healer roles as well as tanks.^[1]

Streaming

According to Blizzard's January 2016 Community Spotlight, Towelliee's Twitch channel showed nearly 80 million views and his YouTube channel had over 71,000 subscribers at that time.^[1] Blizzard listed his Twitch, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook pages as his official channels in the same Spotlight.^[1]

He released a YouTube video titled "13 YEAR STREAM ANNIVERSARY" in July 2024, marking thirteen years of streaming.^[14]

According to his Twitch channel page, he live-streams World of Warcraft content there, with recent stream titles mentioning BlizzCon, Race to World First and Mythic raid progress as of September 2026.^[7]

In a statement reported by Kotaku, Towelliee said he would not stream World of Warcraft again until Activision Blizzard issued a plan of action regarding the 2021 California DFEH lawsuit allegations, and was identified among the World of Warcraft Twitch streamers who publicly commented on the suit after it was filed.^[3]

According to Blizzard, he gave a hands-on demonstration of Legion Demon Hunter gameplay live from BlizzCon 2015, which the company re-watched in early 2016.^[1]

Wowhead reported in May 2022 that he released a video showing early gameplay of Warcraft Arclight Rumble, detailing around 70 single-player missions.^[4]

In a March 2023 interview reported by Wowhead, Morgan Day (Associate Game Director) and Steve Danuser (Lead Narrative Designer) discussed Patch 10.1: Embers of Neltharion with him.^[5]

According to Wowhead, he released an interview with George Velev and Andrew DeSousa about the expansion The War Within on his YouTube channel in April 2024, covering Mythic+ affixes, Augmentation Evoker and raid buffs.^[6][12]

Blizzard Entertainment featured Towelliee in its Community Spotlight on the official World of Warcraft site in January 2016, in which the company published his legal name as Roberto "Towelliee" Garcia.^[1]

According to Wowhead, on Patch 7.3.5 an NPC named after him was added as one of several new Monk trainers in Thunder Totem.^[2]
